So you aren’t satisfied with your folding chairs, huh? You say that your sleeping bag isn’t cutting it anymore. You want true flatness. You want to be able to really fold your furniture up. Kaptein and Bolt will flatten it out for you. Here’s 90° Furniture for your paper-thin, flippy-floppy world.

An interior for an [artist] consisting of 4 parts:
Work Unit
Sitting and Sleeping Unit
Cooking Unit
Storage Unit

Two closed panels rotate open to an angle of 90 degrees. Each component is a room divider and a functional piece of furniture, allowing unlimited combinations. The interior is easy to replace and is applicable to each room.

I imagine these working best in places where they reach floor to ceiling. Yes? More room needed, and quite possibly more attention necessary payed unto unused space. This project also reminds one of a [similar project] made of cardboard. Possibly some recycled materials are in the 90° future?

Cooka takes away the theory that silver is only meant for cutlery and ornamental purposes. This unique tabletop electrical cooking device uses silver in its design quite generously. Banking on its thermal conductivity properties, the cooking plates use the metal effectively to heat up the utensils fast and cool down the unit even faster.
The distinctive design of Cooka makes it resemble a table mat and quite like it, you can fold it up and stow it away, till the next cooking session. The silver plates are surrounded by tiny holes that constantly blow out a stream of hot air around the utensil, so that excess heat is not lost during cooking.

Also integrated to the plates is an electric coil for heating it. This entire setup is housed in a body of non-toxic LSR – Liquid Silicon Rubber. This is ideal because LSR can sustain itself in a range of temperatures (-60 °C to 280 °C).

Can Cooka prove it self when I cook my famous Biryani, which takes almost 2 hours to cook? I sure hope so!

Well, what’ve we got here? A versatile little seat contraption eh? Yeah, yeah, that’s what it is. Wait! It’s also a planter! Wait! It’s also a side-table, as they call them. This is exactly the octohedron I’ve been searching for all my furniture-seeking life. Isn’t a strange corner we turn around when at first we seek out a seat for our very own?

Check the pics. Not too shabby. Very much a rounded sort of character. Not one to worry about bumping ones head on. And do be sure to note the color choices!

Oh I just remembered this can also be used as a container. Will it ever stop? These are made of plastic, and I don’t know that they’ve been put into production yet, but I imagine that if you buy them one at a time, they ‘d perhaps come with a flippable cover and cushion, or “pouf” as the AquiliAlberg crew puts it. Sit on it!

COMPACT is totally sustainable furniture design made from cardboard and recycled polypropylene. The modular solution comes in 5 flat boards which make for easy transport. Assembly should be a cinch if you’re used to IKEA and it’s all held together by interlocking areas that are sealed with wood glue. Configurations are endless, everything from storage, to a work area complete with lighting.

Totally inspired by John Lautner’s villa Chemosphere, this modern version of a spaceship house is simply fantastic. The only difference is that John’s version was stationary and this one’s a trailer. The beauty of this house-on-wheels lies in the fact that its compact and yet boats of ample living quarters. You will find a bathroom, living room, bedroom, kitchen and an office in the 252° Living Area: Mobile Mini House.
The entire setup of the trailer is based on the rooms fanning out to a 252° radius. The mobile walls and floor of each unit run on rails and can be slid open easily. Just like you open one of those Japanese fans, open up this trailer from under its protective shell and set up your mobile house. It’s as simple as that!

Oh, I forgot to mention that there is a sliding screen that encapsulates the house, to secure it and keep the elements at bay.

I have never done the trailer thing, but I know it must be fun to use one during those camping trips. If I were to get one, this would probably be it.

The compact kitchen is a marriage of both cooling and heating elements coz it features a pull-out silicon cooking mat and chill boxes.
It comes with a combo of a touchscreen Internet ready tablet that features a webcam for IM. Chat, Cook, Browse Recipes and Eat with virtual friends!

Speaking of the fridge section, the chill boxes includes a drink cooler, a raw food store and a semi-cooked store section. Super!

As for the cooking mat, it’s an electric heated silicon mat that can be rolled up and stored under the box. Each area on the mat serves a specific cooking function like boiling, frying, heating and has corresponding tab on the side.

The icing on the cake is the Black Box, a simple functional utensil kit that one can use for cooking and serving the meal. I like this…do you?

Per conciliare tutte le funzionalità domestiche in uno spazio ristretto, magari senza compromettere bellezza e stile del proprio spazio abitativo.

In questo ottimo libro illustrato, Angela Lawrence ci suggerisce innanzitutto di creare un look consistente, ad esempio per uniformità dei materiali impiegati, in modo da sottolineare l’unitarietà dello spazio, salvaguardandone il fascino. Usare i mobili per creare divisioni tra spazio giorno, notte e lavoro, per esempio con una libreria che separi il divano dal letto. Infine, utilizzare alcuni oggetti – uno specchio, un quadro, un caminetto- come punti focali di attrazione dello sguardo, posizionando il resto dell’arredamento di conseguenza.

Ecco un’idea interessante per risparmiare spazio e allo stesso tempo avere tutto in ordine e a portata di mano. Tablechair 100% design belga. Due funzioni in “un solo oggetto” di design, comoda seduta e piccolo angolo lavoro. Tablechair ha la seduta inbottita di poliuretano e la scocca in legno di quercia. E’ composta da due semplici forme giometriche uncubo e una sfera. Con poche agili mosse e senza alcuna fatica, da elegante e confortevole poltrona si trasforma in un comodo piano d’appoggio con puff, una mini scrivania adatta soprattutto alle piccole abitazioni. 

Non esistono dettagli su misure e materiali di questo meraviglioso oggetto del desiderio di tutti coloro che amano fare romantiche colazioni guardando negli occhi la/il propria/o amata/o. Per ora è solo un prototipo e non si sa ne  quando e ne se verra mai messo in produzione. Resta però una certezza, indubbiamente si tratta di uno splendido esemplare di arredamento salvaspazio. Un tavolo, due sedie e la colazione è servita!
